Job description
- Devise and champion the IP Strategy; maximize IP’s business and marketing ROI through IP building
- Guide country marketing teams in the integration of IP vision and branding into country marketing strategies and in identifying IP building opportunities
- Ensure unified marketing execution across countries in accordance with the IP Strategy; review and maintain quality standard of marketing throughout the region
- Take ownership in brand safety and maintaining IP integrity, identify potential risks before they occur; have the ability to escalate issues as needed, implement solutions, and learn from mistakes
- Collaborate with project leader and be the regional conduit for country marketing teams; organize and facilitate communications between stakeholders on IP Strategy alignment and integration
- Push regional cooperation for IP building; foster relationships with internal stakeholders, negotiate and secure relevant resources, and make IP building a priority
- Learn and understand the values, trend, characteristics, and community sentiment of assigned IP; vetting of assets and marketing activations to ensure IP accuracy and integrity
- Lead long-term development of assigned IP; be proactive in assisting country marketing teams in executing IP building effort
- Conduct survey and analyze community feedback, develop action plans for improvements
- Monitor the global and regional gaming industry, trends, and competitors; shape IP Strategy and branding accordingly
- Provide market sizing & analysis reports and P&L projections
- Provide status reports and update Gantt charts, review timeline conflicts and misalignments between teams and projects
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Marketing, Branding, Communications, and/or Content and Social; ability to think and contribute broadly across a number of marketing sub‐disciplines, with the ability to deep dive into a key discipline or two
- 3+ years of experience in the gaming industry; in‐depth knowledge about Asia gamers and habits
- Ability to scale between big picture strategic thinking and tactical executional planning, with strong attention to detail
- Strong presentation and organizational skills, to capture and cascade information that provides values to internal and external stakeholders; ability to clarify and summarize complicated concepts
- Able to align a diverse group of stakeholders with conflicting priorities; ability to work in a remote and collaborative environment with teams in different time zones
- Self-motivated problem solver; able to learn quickly and excel; adaptive and willing to challenge yourself and try new things; analytical and able to think strategically about issues, leading to recommendations and action plans
- Passion about games: You’re a gamer and you use your gaming experience to connect with and represent players as a gamer yourself
- Exceptional written and verbal English language skills
- Prior experience in managing IP-related projects
- Previously held a Southeast Asia or Asia portfolio
- Broad exposure to popular entertainment IP globally (anime, comic, games, novel, movies, drama, etc)
- Ability to influence without authority; experience in getting buy-in from stakeholders with persuasive communication capability
- Change management experience
- Experience with art directing, creative directing, copywriting, videography, storyboarding, and/or scriptwriting; with an eye for visual storytelling
- Language capabilities in any Asia languages: ex. Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Malaysia, Vietnamese, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc
