Senior Software Engineer (Python/Golang - AI Application), Zalopay

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Efficiency Enablement team and build impactful software features that improve system efficiency, automation, and intelligent workflows across the product.

In this role, you will work as a software engineer, designing and implementing backend services that operate at scale and integrate with distributed systems. The work requires strong engineering fundamentals, ownership of production systems, and close collaboration with product and cross-functional teams.

Experience working with LLMs, embeddings, or AI service integrations is a strong plus

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable backend services
• Build product features that interact with distributed systems and high-throughput data pipelines
• Design and operate event-driven architectures
• Design, implement, and optimize data access across relational, vector, and graph databases, ensuring data correctness, performance, and scalability in production environments
• Collaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and other teams to deliver end-to-end features
• Make sound technical decisions around scalability, reliability, and performance
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Monitor production systems, investigate incidents, and continuously improve system robustness
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and knowledge sharing
• Research, prototype, and implement AI features

Must-Have

• Strong proficiency in Python, Golang for backend development
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and reliability
• Experience building and operating production-grade backend services
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or other message brokers
• Strong experience working with MySQL, including schema design and performance optimization
• Experience with asynchronous processing, streaming, or real-time systems
• Exposure to high-scale or high-availability environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and product-oriented mindset
• Familiarity with system observability: logging, metrics, and monitoring
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and collaborate effectively

Nice-to-Have

• Experience building AI-powered or data-driven features
• Familiarity with LLMs, embeddings, or AI service integration
