KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Market Research & Competitive Intelligence

  • Collect, consolidate, and analyze market data from multiple sources (SensorTower, Data.ai, AppMagic, community channels, Steam/Google/Apple stores, social listening tools…).
  • Research trends and performance across various game genres (RPG, Open World, Gacha, MMO, Female-Oriented…).
  • Benchmark competitor features, gameplay systems, monetization models, retention patterns, and live-ops events.
  • Provide insights to guide product roadmap planning and publishing strategy.

2. Game Performance Analytics
  • Analyze player behavior data (DAU, MAU, Retention, LTV, Cohort, Funnel, etc.) to assess product health.
  • Identify anomalies and monitor issues/bugs impacting key metrics.
  • Evaluate event performance, version updates, gameplay systems, and in-game economy to support Live-Ops and Product teams.

3. Live-Ops Analytics
  • Track, aggregate, and analyze live-ops data: event participation, economy flow, F2P/P2W segmentation, shop purchase behavior, difficulty curve trends.
  • Assess the effectiveness of events, in-game activities, rewards, banners, and shop design.
  • Propose improvements to retention, engagement, game economy balance, and player experience.

4. Marketing & User Acquisition Analytics
  • Monitor and analyze UA metrics: CPI/CPN, CAC, ROAS, tROAS, and traffic quality by source/campaign.
  • Connect marketing data with in-game behavior (post-install analysis) to evaluate user quality, segmentation, and upgrade potential.
  • Support the Marketing team in optimizing creatives, channel mix, targeting, and scaling plans.

5. Dashboard & Reporting Automation
  • Build and maintain dashboards on Looker Studio, Metabase, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Optimize data pipelines and automate recurring reports.
  • Support the design and tracking of KPIs across the product lifecycle.

6. Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Product Operations, Live-Ops, UA/Marketing, Data Engineering, CS, and other teams to produce a unified data view.
  • Provide data support for strategic decisions such as version releases, server openings, pricing models, and user segmentation.

REQUIREMENTS

Skills & Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, or related fields.
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in BI, Data Analysis, Business Analysis, Product Operations, or similar roles (gaming/tech preferred).
  •  Experience working with large datasets and supporting business decision-making through data. Proficiency in SQL and advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Familiar with BI tools: Power BI, Metabase, Tableau, Looker Studio.
  • Knowledge of EDA, funnel analysis, cohort analysis, retention metrics, revenue metrics (ARPU/ARPPU/PR), LTV, ROAS.
  • Python or R experience is a plus.
  • Experience with market analytics platforms (SensorTower, Data.ai, AppMagic…) is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and problem-solve proactively.
  • Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Live-Ops, Marketing, and Data Engineering teams.

Mindset & Attitude

  • Passion for gaming; familiarity with MMORPG / RPG / Open World / Gacha games is a strong advantage.
  • Strong analytical thinking and curiosity to dive deep into problems.
  • Proactive mindset, always asking questions and seeking insights.
  • Strong communication skills; able to turn data into clear, compelling narratives.
