Associate Product Owner (Banking & Affiliation Solutions), Zalopay

The Banking & Affiliation team sits at a strategic pillar of Zalopay’s ecosystem, powering bank card & account linking and account management, powering millions of transactions through banking channels daily. On the affiliation side, the team enables millions of users to access financial services seamlessly at scale.

As an Associate Product Owner, you will learn how banking and affiliate products are built end-to-end — from idea to launch. On the banking side, you will work on system integrations that power millions of daily transactions. On the affiliation side, you will help shape partner programs and user-facing features that drive growth. This is a hands-on role where you will grow fast by collaborating across teams in a regulated fintech environment.

We operate in disciplined sprint cycles using Jira and Confluence, supported by daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews, quarterly planning, and outcome tracking. Every decision is data-driven and user-centric at its core — clear processes and measurable impact are central to how we work.

What You Will Do

Support & Improve Core Banking and Affiliation Flows

•     Help improve everyday banking features — such as linking bank accounts & cards, managing linked accounts, transferring funds, and processing withdrawals — to make the experience smoother and more reliable for users

•     Support affiliate and partnership programs — including partner onboarding and referral/reward features — that help bring in and engage more users

•     Contribute to company-wide projects required by State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) regulations, working alongside Legal, Risk, Compliance, and partner banks to turn regulatory requirements into clear product changes

Work with Data & System Logic

•     Analyze transaction, partnership, and behavioral data to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities

•     Prepare clear and structured product documentation (PRD, user stories, acceptance criteria) aligned with system logic, partner contracts, and compliance constraints

•     Run A/B tests and product experiments to validate hypotheses and guide iterations

Collaborate Across Functions

•     Work closely with Engineering, UX, Data, Risk, Compliance, CS, and external banking / affiliate partners

•     Balance system reliability, regulatory requirements, partner commitments, and user experience considerations

•     Actively participate in sprint ceremonies and cross-team alignment sessions

•     Solid technical foundation (e.g., completed CS fundamentals such as CS1, CS2, OOP, or have hands-on coding projects) — you will need to understand how complex systems work under the hood

•     Strong structured thinking and problem decomposition skills

•     Sharp eye for detail — you will dig into system logic, partner specs, and edge cases, and small mistakes matter in banking

•     Strong data analysis skills — able to define clear goals, identify gaps using meaningful metrics, and prioritize based on impact to drive results

•     High level of commitment, comfortable working under pressure, and eager to learn

•     UI/UX experience is a plus but not required — we will teach you. However, you should be able to evaluate a design critically and articulate why it works (or doesn’t) and the intention behind it

•     Clear communication in both Vietnamese and English
